What am I doing?

Keys and confessions.  Secrets locked away.  Not original concepts, not anything new.  Enchanting and mysterious, a hundred, two hundred?  Lonely and reminiscent.  Why?

The key to the soul.  Locking our doors behind us.  Keeping them out.  Keeping him in.  Keeping us safe and trapped.  Lock ourselves away from harm and tear each other apart in our living rooms.  The key is a symbol of security, of civilisation, of property and place.  The key to my heart, the key to the problem.  Disembodied from their locks, communicating.

More on why keys and confessions to follow.....

  1. this sounds very interesting :-) I visited the V&A and the collection of iron keys and locks was outrageous- beautiful, intricate, servere: some were like public treasure or relics, some were obviously for no one else to ever know about apart from the key holder...
